Privacy Policy
Waddlecraft is a creative learning app for curious minds of all ages. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, how we handle it, and the choices you have.
Effective date: July 24, 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
Waddlecraft (“Waddlecraft,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an app where you build real tiny apps using only your words, guided by Pip the penguin. This Privacy Policy applies to the Waddlecraft app and website - together, the “Service.”
Waddlecraft is designed for curious minds of all ages. It is a general-audience service, not a service directed primarily at children. Everyone who uses Waddlecraft is covered by this policy; our children’s privacy practices are described below.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect the information needed to create and manage the account, such as your email address and password or verification code. If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google shares the email address from your Google account. Clerk handles account sign-in, and Waddlecraft receives a short-lived session token so the building service can confirm that you are signed in.
- What you build. The heart of Waddlecraft is building with words, so we process the prompts you type and the creations generated from them. When you are signed in and save a Builder’s Beach build, we store the build prompt, generated output, and creation date with your account so the Builds gallery and replay feature can work.
- Waitlist and marketing. If you submit your email to our “Notify me” signup, we collect that email so we can tell you when Waddlecraft launches or share occasional updates.
- Support communications. When you contact us for help, we keep what you send us so we can respond and improve.
Information saved by the app
- Progress. The app saves progress on your device, including which isles you have finished and your best builds. When you are signed in, Waddlecraft also stores private progress records so your isles can restore on another device. Those records contain gameplay numbers only: level id, stars, tidy-nest status, fewest pebble count, and collected-pebble count.
- Sound setting. The app saves whether music and effects are on or off. This setting stays on your device.
3. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Process your prompts to generate what you build - see How your prompts are processed below.
- Keep Waddlecraft safe: prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.
- Communicate with you - respond to support, send service notices, and (where you’ve opted in) share news and launch updates.
- Manage subscriptions and billing status.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. How your prompts are processed
To turn your words into a working build, we send the prompts you type to the Waddlecraft building service and a third-party AI generation provider, which return the result. The request includes your Clerk session token so the service can confirm that you are signed in and apply per-user limits. We share only what’s needed to generate your build.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited ways:
- Service providerswho work on our behalf, including Clerk (sign-in), Google (only if you choose “Continue with Google”), our AI generation provider (prompt processing), Supabase (database hosting for saved Builder’s Beach builds and private progress records), RevenueCat (subscription management), and the Apple App Store (subscriptions). They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety. When we reasonably believe it is required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or Waddlecraft.
- Business transfers. If Waddlecraft is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Subscriptions and payments
The Waddle Plus subscription is billed through the Apple App Store as an in-app purchase and managed with RevenueCat. The App Store handles your payment details - we receive your subscription status, not your full payment card information.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and close your account, from within the app or by contacting us. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by asking us to remove your email.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. California (CCPA/CPRA): you can request access to, deletion of, and details about the personal information we collect, and we do not sell it - you will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. EEA and UK (GDPR): you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact us via the support page.
8. Children’s privacy
Waddlecraft is a general-audience service for curious minds of all ages, and it is not directed primarily at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is permitted by applicable law. The app has no public profiles or sharing, and the information Waddlecraft stores is limited to the account, prompt, private progress, saved build, subscription, waitlist, and support information described in this policy.
If you need to review or delete information associated with an account, use the account tools in the app or contact us through the support page.
9. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, security, or fraud-prevention obligations.
Deleting the app deletes progress and settings stored on your device. If you were signed in, private progress and saved Builder’s Beach builds can still be stored with your account until you delete the account or contact us. You can delete individual saved builds in the app; deleting one discards its prompt and generated output and frees a slot on the Builder’s Beach shelf.
10. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can’t guarantee absolute security.
11. International data transfers
Waddlecraft is available in many countries, and your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. When we transfer information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.
12. Cookies & similar technologies
The Waddlecraft website may use cookies and similar browser technologies for essential site functionality, preferences, security, and waitlist form handling. These browser controls are separate from the app. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the revised version here and update the effective date above. If a future version changes what information the Service uses, we will update this policy to describe the change and provide any notice or consent required by law.
